The new mayor of Huntington takes office next week and is already working to get rid of a controversial tax.
As Mayor-elect Steve Williams takes office January 1, 2013, The first thing on his agenda is to get rid of the proposed 1% occupation tax.
The proposal to tax 1% of the people who work in the city was the idea of outgoing mayor Kim Wolfe.
Business and labor unions have tied the tax up in court for more than a year.
