The Coal Grove Fire Department temporarily housed passengers who were stranded after their bus caught fire on Christmas Eve.
On Monday, the fire department received word of a Greyhound bus that caught fire minutes before midnight along U.S. 52 in Coal Grove, Ohio, Fire Chief Gary Sherman said. Twenty-seven passengers and the bus driver were taken to the Coal Grove Fire Department. The group was headed for Detroit and had to wait for another bus from Columbus, which picked them up about 5 a.m. Wednesday. The passengers were given drinks and watched Christmas movies until their ride arrived.
Sherman believes there was an electrical issue that caused the bus to catch fire. No injuries were reported.
