Christmas meals are being whipped up in Huntington and Charleston for folks who need a helping hand.
In Charleston, Union Mission Crossroads on Leon Sullivan Way was welcoming the homeless and those at risk of being homeless for a Christmas Eve dinner. Turkey dinner and all the trimmings were scheduled to be provided from noon to 3 p.m. Monday to more than 400 people.
Meanwhile, in Huntington, a breakfast for men, women and children was served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday at Huntington City Mission on 10th Street by Trinity Episcopal Church, and a lunch/dinner also was scheduled to be served by the church at the mission from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday.
On Christmas Day, First Presbyterian Church at 10th Street and Fifth Avenue in Huntington will serve the following meals: 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., a combined breakfast; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., lunch; and 4 to 6 p.m. dinner.
