Last week's shooting in at Newtown Elementary in Connecticut has left an impact on people all across the country and even here in our region.
Folks at Altizer Baptist Church gathered Tuesday night to remember the 26 people shot and killed in the deadly rampage. A candle was lit for each of the 20 children and 6 adults slain Friday morning.
A tolling of bells rang through the service as a slide show of the victims were up on a big screen in the sanctuary.
Two local elementary students sang "Jesus Loves Me." The students were from Ona and Altizer Elementary Schools.
A similar vigil will be held 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 20th at Guyandotte Elementary.
