A St. Albans woman was arrested on a drug charge after police said they found methamphetamine in her bedroom.
Laura Ellen Thayer, 39, was charged with possession with intent to deliver after a St. Albans Police Department special enforcement unit served a search warrant Monday at her residence at 2233 Grant Ave. in St. Albans, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
When officers arrived, they search the residence and recovered about 21 clear plastic baggies containing an off-white powder believed to be methamphetamine from Thayer’s bedroom area, the complaint said. Police said Thayer cooperated and directed them to the location of suspected methamphetamine insider her bedroom. The off-white powder tested positive for methamphetamine, the complaint said. Police said one baggie contained more than three grams of meth. Digital scales and other paraphernalia also were recovered during the search.
Thayer was being held in South Central Regional Jail.
