The gas pipeline explosion in Sissonville Tuesday is not the first time such an incident has happened. In 2002, a similar fireball scorched part of the community.
In that incident a decade ago, a huge fire ball from a broken natural gas line sent flames hundreds of feet in the air.
Homes in the area between Sissonville and Cross Lanes were evacuated. The blaze could be seen upt to 12 miles away. No one was hurt then. It is still unknown what caused that explosion 10 years ago.
