Experts predict holiday shipping will break records this Christmas. And with all of the shopping, baking and time spent with your family, you may find yourself waiting until the last minute to mail out your Christmas wishes.
Now the time has come when you are probably scrambling to send your gifts to the ones you love miles away.
"It's organized chaos. We expect it. It happens every year," Charleston Postmaster David Quick said.
Stamping, sealing, mailing and shipping is what you will find at any post office, FedEx or UPS facility.
FedEx is expected to ship a record 280 million packages this holiday season.
If you are mailing gifts from your local post office, you will want to make sure you are sending them now to make sure they arrive before Christmas.
"When you're preparing your packages, write in all capital letters and do not use any punctuation. Use your apartment numbers and the proper zip code," Quick said.
Here are a few dates to keep in mind:
* Dec. 17 is expected to be the busiest mailing day for packages and Christmas cards.
* Dec. 21 is the last day to send gifts priority mail.
* Dec. 22 is the final day to use express mail.
Just make sure to stick to the mailing guidelines so you can bring in holiday cheer whether your loved ones are far or near.
