Twenty-seven lucky kids went shopping with a cop Saturday.
Deputies from the Boone County Sheriff's Office took one student from each grade school in the county to Target for a little shopping spree.
With help of the community's donations, each child was able to pick out a few early Christmas gifts.
"We never really did get to give back to the community or really get to experience a lot of the positive things. So it gives us a chance to hang out with the kids and talk to them and to develop relationships with the children where they know police officers aren't bad guys," said Chief Deputy Chad Barker.
This is the 5th annual Shop with a Cop campaign for Boone County.
