A confusing and tense morning for police Saturday as they rushed to find a woman whose life was in danger after being kidnapped and stabbed.
West Virginia State Police say the victim called authorities and said she had been stabbed.
Investigators believe 44-year-old Joey Keith Jeffrey and 37-year-old Cindy Lynn Creathers, both of Belle, kidnapped the victim, stabbed her, and then dumped her on the side of the road.
After the victim called police; officers, deputies and troopers spread out through Kanawha County searching for the victim and her alleged attackers. They found the suspects' truck at the Knights Inn in Kanawha City and took them both into custody.
The victim was later found alive after she had been dropped off along the side of the road.
Investigators haven't determined a motive for the crime. They are searching the couple's hotel room and their truck. They say the couple knew the victim and this could be a domestic violence situation.
