Kentucky state troopers in Ashland said they arrested a Lawrence County resident after conducting an investigation into illegal drug activity.
Steven A. Davis, 39, of Blaine was charged with trafficking marijuana, according to a news release from State Police. State Police said they received information that numerous packages containing several pounds of marijuana were shipped from California to Davis' residence on Wheeler Branch Road.
On Friday, troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland made a controlled delivery of the intercepted marijuana to the suspect's home. Search warrants were executed at the residence and several pounds of marijuana, firearms and drug paraphernalia items were seized at the residence, the release said.
Davis was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Jail.
