Huntington , Cabell County , West Virginia
The man who admitted to stealing a statue of baby Jesus from a nativity scene was arrested Friday morning.
Kameron Tyler Lambert, 22, of Huntington was charged with destruction of property and petit larceny in a Cabell County Magistrate courtroom on Friday. One week ago, a statue of the baby Jesus was taken from a McDonald's marketing office in the 1100 block of Fifth Avenue.
The statue was recovered, but was defaced with graphic images, police said.
"When they handed me the figurine, it disgusted me," Detective Chris Sperry said. "They had drawn things on it and made gestures on the figurine. The whole purpose of the figurine and what it stands for - there were satanic images and emblems on it," Sperry said.
The statue is valued at $100. Lambert told Eyewitness News in an on-camera interview that he was sorry for his actions.
