Police said they have identified two Ohio men as suspects in connection with a robbery in which an elderly store owner was attacked.
Larry Hart Jr. of Athens County was charged with aggravated robbery. Another man, Dale Canter of Vinton County, hasn't been formally charged because he is incarcerated on other warrants, Detective John Robinson with the Wellston Police Department said.
On Dec. 3, Wellston police responded to a report of a robbery at a business. When they arrived, police said, they found the 90-year-old store owner injured on the ground. The victim said he may have been hit in the head with a crowbar. Police said the suspects got away with nearly $12,000 from a money box and the victim's wallet.
Several law enforcement agencies from Jackson, Athens and Vinton counties helped in the investigation.
