South Charleston police are investigating a string of thefts throughout the city.
Officers said about 30 vehicles had items removed from them late Monday into Tuesday morning from the residential areas of Chestnut Street to the Little Creek Park area, Lt. G.E. Amburgey of the South Charleston Police Department said. He also said that those vehicles were not locked.
Amburgey told Eyewitness News that during this time of year, he is hopeful that people will lock their car doors to prevent thefts like these from occurring. The investigation is ongoing.
