Dozens of school children got a lesson in online safety thanks to a local university.
Marshall University hosted a cyber safety summit for students and their parents Wednesday.
Participants were able to learn about identity scams, cyber bullying and why they could be targeted by criminals. Organizers said that some seemingly innocent activity that children do online could potentially be harmful.
The event was sponsored by the FBI, the Appalachian Institute of Digital Evidence and Marshall University's Department of Integrated Science and Technology.
