A Kanawha County man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Kanawha Circuit Court to firing a shotgun inside a car where two small children were riding.
Malcolm Hodges told troopers who stopped him for a traffic violation that the shotgun accidentally fired when he was pulled over and blew a hole in the floor of his car near Nitro. The children, ages 1 and 2, were not injured.
Hodges faces up to five years in prison after his guilty plea on the wanton endangerment charge and another year in jail on an unrelated drug charge when he is sentenced in January. He appeared before Kanawha Circuit Judge Charlie King.
