A Charleston family is mourning the loss of a loved one this Thanksgiving after he was shot dead in the middle of the street on the West Side.

"We just want justice to be served," says Martha Mitchell. Her nephew, Clinton "Blue" Green, 39, was found murdered in front of 924 Main Street on Wednesday.

"It was hard not having him here. It was hard telling my father someone murdered his grandson," she says.

Charleston Police say they have a lead in the murder investigation, but right now, his family is left with more questions than answers.

"I don't know from one day to the next if they're going to come here to our home. I don't know what these people are going to do," she says.

Green had a checkered past, and was familiar to law enforcement, but his family says murder is no way for anyone to die, no matter what mistakes they've made.

Despite his criminal record, they say he was a start runner and football player in high school and loved his children. Now, they're sending a message to whoever took his life.

"You killed my brother in cold blood. That's a coward. Cold blood. Killed my brother in cold blood. That's a coward," said his brother, Wavey Green.

"Step foward. Come forward. You can't run forever. It could be two years down the road before they find out who did it. It could be next week when they find out who did. But whoever done it, come forward because you can't run forever," says Mitchell.

Charleston Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 304-348-6480.
