Alum Bridge , Lewis County , West Virginia

A mother and two children found dead in a Lewis County barn fire all died of gunshot wounds, a deputy state fire marshal said.

Autopsy results indicate that Beth Kraus, 32, her son, Kaden, 5, and daughter Kiera, 3, all died of gunshot wounds, Deputy State Fire Marshal Reed Cook said. Cook said it is unclear whether the deaths occurred as the result of a double murder-suicide or were triple homicides. Cook said he believes authorities will eventually reach a conclusion about what happened.

The bodies of the mother and two children were discovered in the burned-out barn near Alum Bridge on Nov. 12. Authorities have said a pistol was found at the scene.

A state fire investigator says two children found dead after a Lewis County barn fire had been shot.

Deputy State Fire Marshal Reed Cook said that's the conclusion of autopsies done by the state medical examiner's office on 5-year-old Kaden Kraus and 3-year-old Kiera Kraus.

They were found dead in the burned-out barn near Alum Bridge on Nov. 12, along with their mother, 32-year-old Beth Kraus.

Cook says he doesn't yet have an autopsy report on their mother.

Lewis County sheriff's deputies have refused to comment on the case since Nov. 15.

Beth Kraus' husband, Doug Kraus, told police he found the bodies after working a night shift. No arrests have been made.

Two children found dead in a suspicious fire in Lewis County will be laid to rest Saturday.

Five-year-old Kaden Edward Kraus and his three-year-old sister, Keira Marie Kraus, will be remembered during a visitation at Pat Boyle Funeral Home in Jane Lew from 10am until 12pm. A joint funeral service for the two will follow at the funeral home.

Almost two weeks ago; the children, along with their mother, 33-year-old Beth Ann Kraus, were found dead in a pole barn behind their house. Fire Marshals have since confirmed a pistol was also found in the rubble, but the Lewis County Sheriff's Department has refused to release whether the family died before or during the fire. The father allegedly found the bodies when he returned from work.

At this time, there are no funeral services set for Beth Ann Kraus.
