If you’re planning on traveling this Thanksgiving, you will see even more people hitting the road with you.
AAA estimates more people across the nation will be driving instead of flying to visit family and friends.
The major highways in the area were quiet early Wednesday. Expect traffic to pick up significantly as experts are predicting a very busy holiday weekend.
Since there will be many people on the road, officials want to remind you to take it slow. Eyewitness News heard a lot of complaints from drivers Wednesday about people texting and driving. Officials strongly recommend putting the phones away; it is now illegal to text and drive. Motorists also are advised to take their time getting to their destination to stay safe this holiday season
