The West Virginia Department of Commerce has released the name of a miner who was injured while on the job Tuesday morning.
Harold Miller of Danville was working underground at Speed Mining in Cabin Creek about 8:30 a.m. when he became pinned between a scoop and the wall of the mine.
Miller was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Speed Mining is a Patriot Coal operation.
A miner injured at a Kanawha County mine Tuesday morning received non-life threatening injuries, a spokesman with the Miners Health and Safety Administration said.
Eyewitness News has learned the victim was about 40-years-old and was working underground when he was pinned between a scoop and wall of the mine.
The accident happened about 8:20 a.m. at Speed Mining, a Patriot Coal operation in Cabin Creek.
Officials with the Office of Miners' Health Safety and Training were on their way to the mine Tuesday morning to begin an investigation.
