A third home invasion in less than a week has been reported in Huntington. The most recent report happened late Sunday night, shortly before midnight, in the 900 block of 24th Street. Three white men in hooded sweatshirts reportedly broke into the home while the residents were inside. A police report filed at the Huntington Police Department said Debbie Chinn was playing cards in the kitchen with her young grandchildren when three men armed with guns burst in and demanded money. Chinn said, "All they got was 40 dollars, a pack of cigarettes and two cell phones. It wasn't worth it to scare me and the kids like that. It's ridiculous. If they'd just asked me I'd given them the money. I'm not concerned about me but i am for my kids. I'd do anything for my babies." Chinn says the suspects were white males with black hooded jackets, one of the men had blonde hair and blue eyes. This is the third reported home invasion in less than a week. The first home invasion was reported on Tuesday, when police say three black men armed with guns broke into a home in the 2500 block of 12th Avenue. A similar invasion happened the following night on Wednesday when three black men and a white man armed with guns entered a home just off Fourth Avenue between 24th and 25th streets. Police believe the first two home invasions may be connected, according to the witness descriptions of the suspects. It is unclear at this time if the most recent home invasion is related.
