A man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a home in Putnam County, fled after the homeowner started firing shots and then led police on a chase, authorities said.
James Galloway, 34, was arrested after a home was broken into about 11:30 a.m. in the Teays Farm Subdivision, authorities said The homeowner started shooting at the suspect, so he made a run for it. Detectives with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said Galloway was driving a stolen car when he took off. Eyewitness News was told the suspect then ditched that car and stole another one from a 7-Eleven parking lot.
State Police spotted that car heading toward Charleston and were able to pull him over near Laidley Field in Charleston, but the chase still wasn’t over. Troopers said he started to run, but they quickly caught up with him and arrested him.
