The Kentucky State Police in Ashland made a trip to Florida to extradite a Greenup County man to face child porn charges.
James K. Raasch, 71, was charged with a thousand counts of possessing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor, a news release from the Kentucky State Police said.
In October, troopers said they discovered hundreds of images of child porn in a home and a storage unit owned by the suspect. Raasch was living in Clearwater, Fla., at the time.
Troopers made a shocking discovery at a home and storage units in Greenup County, Ky. on Wednesday.
The Kentucky State Police in Ashland received a complaint about several images of child porn found in a home on Clay Street in Flatwoods, according to a press release from the Kentucky State Police. Thousands of images were found at a residence and in storage units rented by James K. Raasch, 71, who was living in Clearwater, Fla., the release said.
Kentucky State Police issued an arrest warrant for Raasch, and Florida authorities were contacted and arrested Raasch.
Raasch will face 1,000 counts of charges of possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor.
The FBI and the Flatwoods Police Department assisted in the investigation.
