Six at-will employees of the West Virginia Attorney General's Office have been fired.
The Charleston Gazette reports that a file clerk, a paralegal, two temporary clerks and two interns were notified of their terminations Friday. The terminations are effective Nov. 23.
The firings came days after Attorney General Darrell McGraw lost his re-election bid for a sixth term. His current term ends Jan. 14, 2013.
Managing Deputy Attorney General Fran Hughes said the firings were related to performance. She says the election's outcome had nothing to do with them.
