Police agencies from across the state were presented Friday with the first ever “VIP Shield Award” in Charleston.
The West Virginia Violence and Injury Prevention held its first Join Forces Conference at the Charleston Marriott.
During the closing ceremony, State Police, county sheriff’s deputies, city police and public resource officers were presented the shield award for their efforts to keep the community protected. Friday’s event was held to launch and introduce the state’s newest prevention strategy.
