A Charleston family is about to have a feud on national TV.
Before you get any ideas, it’s just a game – “Family Feud,” in fact.
The Newkirk family, which includes Kristy, an investments professional; husband Rob, an engineer for the state of West Virginia; father Darrel, a retired physician; mother June, a retired teacher; and sister, Dee Ann, an actress/writer/producer, will appear on the show 5:30 p.m. Monday on WVAH TV, according to a news release from the show.
Show organizers said the Newkirks will face off against the Myers family of Lithia Springs, Ga., in front of a live TV audience in Atlanta, with the chance to win up to $100,000 and a brand new car. The show is hosted by Steve Harvey.
The idea for the Charleston family to be on the show was inspired by one of its members. “Our daughter Kristy told us that if was on her bucket list to be on a national game show,” Darrel Newkirk said. “So she persuaded us to try out for “Family Feud” last spring.”
