A woman and her boyfriend were assaulted in her home when two masked assailants invaded.
Police responded about 1 a.m. Thursday to an armed robbery at a home in Hueysville, Ky., according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.
Police said two males armed with a piece of lumber forced open the back door of the home. They were wearing hooded shirts and had their faces covered, police said. The assailants reportedly beat the victims with the lumber and took several items before fleeing. The victims were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
