A grand jury in Clay County has indicted a former political candidate on criminal charges.
Hiram Lewis, a former Republican candidate for West Virginia attorney general, will be arraigned later this month on malicious wounding, domestic assault and wanton endangerment involving a firearm charges.
Lewis claims self-defense for shooting Stephen Bogart at his house in Procious.
