Huntington mayoral candidates incumbent Kim Wolfe and Councilman Steve Williams hit the pavement and shook as many hands as possible Monday.
Wolfe said he has a good chance of winning the seat since crime has decreased in town by nearly 40 percent. The mayor spent Monday in the Altizer community talking to folks and passing out fliers.
Williams and family members held signs along Fifth Avenue and Eighth Street in front of City Hall with hopes to gain support. Williams and Wolfe have run a clean campaign. Williams said he and Wolfe have been friends since high school and he wouldn’t want the campaign to go negative and it hasn’t. Wolfe said if he loses, another door will open. He says he’s a man of faith and God will take care of him.
Williams said his mission isn’t necessarily to be mayor, but to transform the city to be the best it can be.
