Investigators believe a fire where the body of an elderly man was found has been ruled arson.
On October 19, investigators responded to a fire on Goosecreek Road in Bloomingville, Oh. The body of Thomas Jackson,75, was found inside the home. Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set, according to a news release from the Ohio Division State Fire Marshal.
A Blue Ribbon Arson Reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with any information on the person or persons responsible for the fire. Those with information should call the State Fire Marshal at 1-800-589-2728.
The investigation on the fire is ongoing.
Deputies discovered a body after responding to an alarm in Vinton County, Ohio.
On Friday, deputies responded to a home in the Jackson township after an alarm was activated, according to a press release from the Vinton County Sheriff's Office. When they arrived, they discovered the body of a man and a fire in the residence. The fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal's Office. The body was sent to the Franklin County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.
It is unclear at this time if the death is being considered suspicious. The victim's name is not being released at this time.
