Friends of Blair Mountain protested Natural Resource Partners, a sponsor of the forum which was held Thursday afternoon at the Pullman Plaza Hotel in Huntington.
Friends of Blair Mountain said the group owns mineral rights to historic Blair Mountain in Logan County, and they're upset because Nick Carter, Chief Operations Officer, of the company refuses to meet with them.
During the panel discussion, Carter said the forum was not the time or place for the discussion and said they are working with the coal companies and law makers to protect the land best they can.
