Putnam County sheriff's deputies are looking for a suspect who they say shot a man in the leg in Poca.
Andrew Hodge, 29, of Charleston is being sought on an attempted murder charge following a shooting that occurred about 5 a.m. Monday on Dupont Road in Poca, Putnam County Sheriff's Detective John Hedrick said. The victim in that shooting, Colter Anderson, 29, was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital for treatment, Hedrick said. A hospital spokeswoman said he was treated in the emergency room and released.
The victim told deputies he left his trailer and was confronted by Hodge, who had dated Anderson's sister, Hedrick said. Deputies said the suspect pointed a revolver-type gun at Anderson and the gun misfired several times before it discharged and Anderson was shot in the calf area of the leg.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the sheriff's department at 304-586-0256 or 304-586-0273.
