The Kanawha County Ambulance Authority is not taking Hurricane Sandy lightly. To them, it's all about keeping you safe and preparing for the worst.
Paramedics are stocking up on blankets, cots and medication. Anything they may need for any situation.
The Ambulance Authority is also receiving constant weather updates from the Office Of Emergency Management. They also have five ambulances on standby for FEMA.
Officials say June's massive storm taught them a lot about time management and what is vital to have during these emergency situations.
"We learned a lot from the series of wind storms that came through our area this summer and we put a lot of those action review plans into this. We know how to go out and do prehospital care emergency services to our public," said Chaplain Mike Jarrett from the Kanawha County Ambulance Authority.
First responders also recommend you have enough food and water for 72 hours.
