One lane of Route 60 in St. Albans will be closed most of the day Wednesday so workers can install a new power line across the Kanawha River.
The installation of the new power line is part of the Division of Highways' Nitro-St. Albans Bridge relocation project, according to a news release from Appalachian Power.
The road closure, less than a quarter mile, will be in the right lane of Route 60 going westbound near the Kmart shopping plaza. Traffic along Route 60 also will be completely stopped for about 15 minutes sometime during the morning hours while a helicopter pulls the power line from one side of the river to the other. During this period, travelers are advised to consider alternate routes.
