The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department hosted a special event in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Monday.
Officials provided various educational materials, breast cancer prevention games, surgical reconstruction information, treats and door prizes. The event was open to any participant in the West Virginia breast and cervical cancer screening program in addition to the general public.
"It is important to know that the health department has programs available to those who are under insured," said Susan Jordan, nursing supervisor for the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department.
