Dunbar police say they are investigating a possible robbery in which a man said he was held up at gunpoint by a suspect who fled the scene on a bicycle.
The victim told police he was approached by an individual believed to be a juvenile at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at 15th Street and Ohio Avenue who asked to borrow his cell phone, according to a news release from the Dunbar Police Department.
The victim said he complied, and the suspect attempted to flee with his cell phone. Police said the victim pursued and was able to stop the suspect, but the suspect produced a pistol and demanded the victim’s wallet and money. The victim complied, and the suspect fled the area on a bicycle.
Police described the suspect as mixed race, 14 to 15 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and was riding a “street bike” that was possibly orange in color with green color spokes on the wheels.
