A somber night at Saint Albans High School, as students, family, and friends gathered to remember 15-year-old Brendan George.
"They're dealing with something that's tough on them and searching for ways to deal with that. And they need each other to lean on," says Saint Albans High School principal, Jeff Kelley.
Brendan was a freshman and a member of the junior ROTC. Classmates say they were shocked to hear the news of his sudden and accidental death on Sunday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
"For hours I couldn't move, I was just in pain crying," says Brendan's best friend, Reese Gillispie.
Kelley says classmates and teachers remember Brendan as a boy who was on the right track.
"Good student, good kid, respectful. I mean just all the things you want to hear," says Kelley.
His best friend says it warms his heart to see so many people here tonight.
"I just loved him as a brother. I'm just glad everyone's here to support," says Gillispie.
