West Virginia has hired a Pittsburgh-based engineering firm to evaluate security at the Capitol Complex and recommend improvements.
GAI Consultants is the winning bidder for the $225,000 contract.
Department of Administration spokeswoman Diane Holley-Brown told the Charleston Gazette that GAI will work with several state agencies and the West Virginia National Guard to developing ideas for enhancing security on the 60-acre campus.
The Capitol Building Commission must approve any recommendations for physical changes to the Capitol grounds.
