A Kanawha County woman is behind bars accused of robbing a bank in Glasgow.
Police arrested 37-year-old Jennifer Garretson Saturday night. Officers say she walked into the City National Bank Friday afternoon and gave the teller a note that said she had a gun and to give her money.
The teller put an unknown amount of cash into a bag that Garretson also gave her. Garretson then took off with the cash.
When police arrested Garretson, court documents say she admitted to police that she did rob the bank. She then told police she put the money in a clothing box in her home. Officers found the money inside of that box.
Garretson is charged with robbery. Her husband Gary Garretson was also booked into the South Central Regional Jail overnight. Jail officials say he is charged with being an accessory after the fact.
Police officers were on the scene Friday afternoon of a bank robbery in the Eastern Kanawha County town of Glasgow.
The robbery was reported about 2 p.m. at City National Bank. State Police from the Quincy detachment and the Glasgow Police Department are investigating.
A Metro 911 dispatcher said police were looking for a vehicle that may have been involved in the robbery, a white Chevrolet Trailblazer that was last spotted headed west on Route 60, with three females inside. A suspect description also was issued -- a white female, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 140-150 pounds with brown hair and a pony tail.
Cedar Grove Middle School was on lockdown for a short time while police were investigating the robbery, but that has been lifted.
