Grandparents gathered Wednesday at the state Capitol to talk to state officials about their rights as grandparents.
"We want to be able to see those grandchildren no matter what the circumstances are,” group organizer Patty Butcher said. “We want to always be in contact with them."
The West Virginia Needs Grandparents Rights is concerned about such issues as visitation rights and custody issues.
Currently, there are rights for grandparents in West Virginia, but this group would like to see those rights amended.
The organization does have a petition and if you would like to sign it, you can go to www.change.org.
