The Jackson County Sheriff's Department in Ohio is investigating an apparent murder-suicide.
Bobby McCormick, 36, apparently shot Crystal Fyffe, 33, once in the head and turned the gun on himself, Sheriff John Shasteen said. The shootings occurred about 11 p.m. on Tuesday on Limerick Road in Liberty Township in Jackson County, Ohio.
Police received a call that saying that a man was pointing a gun at his girlfriend, Shasteen said. When police arrived at the home, they said they heard gunshots. Police checked the home and found two bodies on the back porch.
The couple's children were in the house at the time, but were unharmed.
"It's a terrible situation, especially when kids are involved," Shasteen said.
The sheriff added that there had been several emergency calls that were made about the residence previously.
