Parkersburg police arrested a man on felony warrants for burglary and malicious wounding.
Fredrick Scott Charlton, 37, of Parkersburg was arrested Sunday, according to a news release from the Parkersburg Police Department. A criminal complaint filed in Wood County Magistrate Court by Detective L.R. Board alleges that earlier this month, Charlton went to the residence of the female victim in the 3000 block of Camden Avenue.
After being denied entry by the victim, Charlton allegedly used bodily force to bust the lock on the door and gain entry. Once inside, the complaint said, Charlton grabbed the victim by the back of the head and forcibly smashed her face into a wall, causing multiple fractures to her face.
The complaint further states that Charlton had been instructed to stay away from the victim, and the incident occurred in front of the victim’s children, ages 2 and 4.
Charlton failed to post a $30,000 bond and is currently being housed in the North Central Regional Jail.
