Police are looking for a suspect who stole a hearse in Dunbar while funeral workers were inside a home speaking to a family of someone who recently died.
The 2003 Chevy Suburban hearse belonging to Keller’s Funeral Home in Dunbar was stolen about 5 a.m. Wednesday while the workers were inside the home on 20th Street with the keys in the vehicle and the doors unlocked, police said.
The vehicle was spotted at Go-Mart on Washington Street West in Charleston about 10 a.m. being driven by a white male whose picture was captured on surveillance footage inside the store. A short time later, the vehicle was recovered at the corner of Barton and Red Oak streets, but the suspect was long gone.
