MULTIPLE INTERSTATE CRASHES Crashes On Interstates Delay Morning Commute

Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel were on the scene Wednesday morning of four interstate crashes. The sheriff’s office was advising motorists of delays during their morning commute.
The first crash was in the vicinity of the 8 mile marker of Interstate 79, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. It was a single vehicle, roll-over in the median. This crash did have injuries and entrapment. It was reported that emergency crews temporarily shut down the southbound lanes of I-79 at the site.
The second interstate crash was reported at the 112 mile marker of Interstate 77 southbound. The crash was reported as two vehicles and injuries were unknown. No further details were readily available.
Meanwhile, another crash was reported about 8:30 a.m. at the 47 mile marker of Interstate 64 eastbound. The crash is reported to be a single vehicle in to the retaining wall.
A fourth crash was reported at the 106 mile marker of I-77. It was a single vehicle crash in the median and injuries are reported along with possible ejection.
Crashes also have been reported in the 5500 block of Elk River Road North and the 3000 block of Shadyside Drive in Saint Albans.
The sheriff’s office advised motorists to slow down and prepare for delays.
