Two people were jailed after numerous law enforcement agencies allegedly discovered drugs inside a Wayne County home.
James D. Robertson, 46, and Steven A. Thompson, 43, both of Fort Gay, face multiple charges for possession of a controlled substance, according to a news release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
Wayne County deputies, Fort Gay police officers and the Wayne detachment of the West Virginia State Police issued a search warrant at 3301 Court St. in Fort Gay early Tuesday. That's where officers said they found hydrocodone pills, other pills, marijuana, drug ledgers and phone numbers for pain clinics in Georgia.
The residence is less than 100 feet from Fort Gay Middle School, Robert Copley, Wayne County drug enforcement consultant, said. State Police also recovered a stolen television at the home, the release said.
Both men remain in the Western Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.
