A Kanawha County man was sentenced to one-to-5 years in prison today for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at her home. Jacob Britvec was 20 when the third degree sexual assault took place.
The victim had never seen Britvec when he knocked on her bedroom window last year, but had been exchanging text messages with him.
He apologized the victim and the court, but the judge rejected his bid for a sentence that would keep him out of prison.
Judge Paul Zakaib ordered a one-to-five year prison term and five years supervised release. Britvec will also have to register as a sex offender.
