The public is invited to attend a meeting on utilities' responses to windstorms that left thousands in the mountain state without power this summer.
The Public Service Commission asked the utilities this week to attend the meeting and explain their responses. The meeting is set for Oct. 22 at the PSC's headquarters in Charleston.
The storms left more than 680,000 West Virginia customers without electricity.
The PSC is investigating how electric, water and telephone utilities responded to the June 29 derecho and subsequent storms.
Some West Virginians had to wait nearly two weeks to have their power restored.
The power outages also created water and telephone outages in some areas.
