You can help celebrate 75 years of the Kanawha State Forest.
Visitors are asked to take part in the “Quiet Celebration” and walk for half of an hour between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday.
“The celebration is simply asking people to visit the forest for at least a half hour and walk somewhere and to be active outdoors," said Kevin Dials, assistant superintendent.
West Virginia’s state park system is a partner with ActiveWV, a statewide physical activity initiative, and assists in providing outdoor exercise opportunities.
There is no designated trail for you to take, and there is no charge for the walk.
