Troopers from the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested two people and charged them with felony drug possession during a traffic stop.
Troopers arrested Deidra L. Lucas, 45, of Orion, Mich., and Shanice S. Eubanks, 20, of Detroit, Mich., according to a news release from the State Highway Patrol. The release said police stopped a Chrysler Sebring Sunday night on U.S. 23 south of Lucasville, Ohio. Police said they found 77 Xanax pills and 50 grams of crack cocaine hidden in the car.
Lucas was charged with having no operator's license and two counts of felony drug possession. Eubanks was charged with two counts of felony drug possession. The two were scheduled to be in Portsmouth Municipal Court for arraignment Monday morning.
