A Charleston man has been indicted for involuntary manslaughter.
A grand jury found probable cause Friday to indict Kenneth Slater. Slater is accused of punching former Alcohol and Beverage Commissioner Robert Adkins once in the face.
The fight happened outside of a bar on St. Patrick’s Day in South Charleston. Police said Adkins repeatedly grabbed Slater’s girlfriend, even after being asked to stop.
Following that one punch, police said, Adkins fell backward and hit his head. He then walked away and went home. Four days later, he was taken to the hospital. He died a week later.
