Gauley rafting season is under way in the Mountain State. It kicked off last weekend.
Over the next several weekends, thousands of gallons of water will be released by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from the Summersville Dam in Nicholas County.
The Gauley River is ranked as one of the best in the world. Whitewater enthusiasts from all over the world come to West Virginia to raft the Gauley.
Gauley season ends on Oct. 21 and mark your calendars for this year's Bridge Day happening Oct. 20.
